Favor for a friend - MB project and other stuff for sale

A friend of mine in Houston who owned a Mercedes used car lot in Houston had to get out of business due to heart problems a year ago. Since then he's sold off all the cars in his lot, and is now selling out the contents of a warehouse he kept all kinds of Mercedes stuff in, the most interesting of which is an 83 500 SEL he has been restoring off and on for the last three years, which he lost interest in some while back. Car has not been started in a two years. He says it needs electrical work and paint. He needs to sell it fast because he sold the building. He asked for 2 grand but I bet he'll take $1500. He says the car is very restorable, and the car had about 100k on it. He also has a low mileage 3.8 drive train out of a wreck, and all kinds of miscellaneous body parts. If anyone in the Houston area is interested:

Jim Young

He's a nice old guy who loves to talk about Mercedes. I've known him for fifteen years, he ran a nice lot in the most upscale part of Houston and only sold the best cars.

I bet he'd arrange a tour of the barn for those who just want to pick through the stuff, but you better hurry because he has a week to clear the building. People in that situation are usually real eager sellers.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
