Azimuth, specifically, what is it about the "lifestyle" that you find objectionable or dangerous? Is it just the sexual act?

I'm glad you asked. It is the sexual act that I find unwise. I also find other heterosexual behaviors unwise, but we are speaking of gay sex.

I'm not gay, so I don't have first hand knowlege of this; I only have the various sources i use for info to guide my opinions.

I gotta go. Be right back.

So,...that's how you get your rocks off?

Thanks for the response. As you say, heterosexuals engage in virtually the same sexual practices as gays. Sodomy is no longer illegal, even in Texas, so one has to wonder what legitimate interest the government has in barring same sex marriage, if it was to prevent citizens from engaging in the once illegal act of sodomy.

the government has no place discussing marriage anyway, its a religious institution
Courts give marriage licences for those who do not wish to have a church wedding. Governments recognize marriage licences given by churches and by courts, so it is very much a state issue.

And you cannot compare homosexuality to bestiality. One is between two consenting human adults. The other is not.

Of course you're absolutely right, but the "moral right" hates to address constitutional issues with logic, preferring instead to use fear and bigotry as its excuse for reason and compassion.

Not mention needing a real diamond cutter.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

is it too late to change my answer?[:D]

I had a meeting to attend so I had to go. While I was inattentive at the meeting I reflected on your Q a little more.

I think my problem is not so much the sex acts required for gay sex as much as (from what I've read) that actively gay men tend to be more promiscuous than actively heterosexual folks. That is not to say that heteros are not promiscuous, but they are statisticly more likely to be monogamous per capita.

Promiscuity is a destabilizing factor in society. There are other reasons that I think homosexual behavior is destabilizing to society but they are eclipsed by the unwise heterosexual behaviors and thier destabilizing consequences.

It all comes down to a lifestyle choice. Does one act on his/her tendancies or not? are those tendancies destabilizing to society or not?

It's not up to me to limit your choice.

VD just wants this to be true because his old man had sex with a jackass. He calls her "mom".
