New DUI laws in Texas

I heard on a radio talk show today that the Marines in Texas could arrest the passenger for DUI at a check point. Texas will be using the miltary to help keep the peace. Has anyone herd of that?

The show mentions that Texas is now doing a shotgun approach to get you for any violation at a checkpoint. The law states that the your wait at the check point will not last longer than 10 minutes and the office can only ask 2 minutes of questions.

^^^^

Then you must mean PWI/PUI surely???

That's gonna be tough on cab or bus drivers if they pick up any drunks, however unlikely that might be!
Cab drivers, limos, and buses are exempt, but you can be arrested for waiting on the street or parking lot. The radio talk show host imagines that the business will have drive up windows where they throw the drunks into the vehicle. The show mentions that the founder of MAD is protesting these laws. The founder of MAD does not like the direction of MAD today.

They even do it in TN. When I herd about this case I was shock. There is another case where the police arrested someone seating in the passenger seat waiting for the driver.

The show also mentions, that the searches are going to get worst because of the laws passed after 9/11. In some States the police is allow to check your tags when he is behind you in traffic.
