RE: The US is not a Christian Nation.

Also, one can easily see how, "In God we Trust", "Under God" and all the other crap like it, are direct violations of the 1st Amendment. Both of these abominations to freedom were the result of Congressional Acts, yet the Constitution clearly states:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;...."

In addition, if they were founding a "Christian Nation", isn't odd that they would insert this into Article 6?:

Quote:

"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

End Quote

Some grad student.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

I would be happy if the average american could realize how radical the current administration is with regards to religion. Then decide for themselves what they want.

We all know you prefer the idiotic falsehoods expressed as pea-brained slogans, so please ignore anything that might make you absorb a little education.

"Heaven knows" that the folks in Washington don't want religion to be a factor in the new Iraqi government. That would be a bad thing, right? [:D]

It could have been a really good book. It had a good plot and a great conspiracy. But don't you think character development was shallow? I found it really difficult to care about the characters.

I can't figure-out why the Catholic Church didn't like it. If you read the book all of the way through, they came out pretty much okay. Hope I didn't give anything away to future readers.

KVINE - As usual, your arguments are circular. One false presumption, trying to support the next. I am a "process engineer", and an expert in research methodology. You have to do thorough research to come to a CONCLUSIVE answer. I read all your very long, cut and pastes. Seems you stopped researching when you got the answer you expected, instead of researching exhaustively, and confirming all of the data for reliability, then compiling, to eliminate unsubstantiated hypothoses. A fact based conclusion that was CONFIRMED through multiple, reliable sources is the result of real research. Get a degree! You're not fooling anyone with your ranting and raving. Read this, and learn. This is the result of true research. http://members.aol.com/TestOath/deism.htm
