To defeat this threat requires a dual strategy: Kill the bad guyes whenever possible and improve the lives of the people who support them. I don't mean send Osama's Momma some coupons. I mean help them gain some measure of control of their destiny. A man with hope is a man with a hostage against the future.
and study their history to better understand them. Don't forget that part.

You're right though. There are Arab Christians, strangly enough they don't seem to be hijacking a lot of planes.

Koop,

They are all not so bad. It is their government that is evil, and they will do anything to keep their power.

RE: Lebanon needs to get rid of their terror groups

I just woke up, and I’m sorry to hear what happened.
I heard the news implying that Hizbollah may be behind it. But I doubt it. It’s also strange that no one claimed responsibility for it, because usually the perpetrators do. Even Hizbollah didn’t claim responsibility. This group was never associated with these killings. His combat was restricted to the Israeli soldiers located in Southern Lebanon.
As for the title to this topic, I disagree with it for the moment. In Lebanon there are no terrorist groups, there is a group called Hizbollah which is considered a resistance group here and in the Arab world. It gained tremendous momentum in 2000 after the Israeli withdrawel. It’s on the American list of terrorist groups because it’s on the Israeli list. The Europeans still refuse to put Hizbollah on their terrorist list.
But if eventually Hizbollah has a hand in this, which I doubt for the moment because it’s just a way to take away the pressure from the PA, I will consider this as a terrorist act by Hizbollah and so will many Lebanese. This won’t go easy on them in Lebanon.

and the hijacking of TWA 847, the kidnapping of college professor Terry Waite and David Dodge and 16 other Americans, bombings in Argentina, a few embassy bombings,Khobar towers, and countless suicide bombings targeting civilians in Israel.

Lebanon has a lot of good people, but a lot of us feel like Lebanon is not cracking down on its terrorist. Our equivalent is Timothy Mcvey. Our government did its job on getting Timothy Mcvey.

Why can't Lebanon do its job?

TWA 847 was hijacked in 1985, the embassy bombing was in 1983, the kidnappings in Beirut were made by various Shiite militias. Hizbollah was formed in 1986. The 80s was characterized with total chaos in Beirut, where Hizbollah has been part of terrorist acts, such as kidnappings. That’s true. But the entire country was in terror. Nasty things happen in times of war. That’s the case in most wars.

After 1989, Hizbollah’s combat was restricted to the Israeli soldiers located in Southern Lebanon.
Suicide bombings targeting civilians in Israel was act of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

And as I’ve expected, Islamic Jihad (Jerusalem) has claimed responsibility for last night terrorist act.
