My thoughts and prayers are with them.
SALUTE
Screw your thoughts and prayers. Get your ass over there and in the line of fire you hypocrit. Arm chair tough guys who buy everything the media shoves down their neck are simply grotesque to any true american. Go lose your son or daughter and then tell us how you feel.

If you actually did serve, and saw the carnage up front, and you are still a proponent of this war, then you must be one cold hearted person. Of all the veterans I know, none of them are for this so called war. Some of the carry several purple hearts, and you carry???

Bot is always quick to use his intellect to attack. Too bad he can't seem to use it for anything else...

Any person, who has been there, brings home their own view.
Some see the sunrise, some see the sunset.

I was not alive when your friends saw their sun.
With the passage of time I hope they are sleeping well.

No medals adorn my chest, only my HONOR
and as hard as you try Shane you well never
be able to take that away from me.

Ask them why they still have their medals?

Thank you for your service, Mr. Dirks.

I may not agree with the policy, but I do appreciate your efforts. Glad you made it home safe.

RE: Nearly 1,500 dead!

I am not trying to take away your honor. I am happy you made it home safe. I wish the reason you were fighting was different. The men who put you there are the ones who deserve no honor whatsoever.
And being a soldier in a war zone should never be anyone's "sun." That is unless you think that military action is the holy grail of life. I suppose you think that don't you? The men up top have got you trained very well.

Shane
I chose to serve in the U.S.Army.
I chose to leave the U.S.Army.
Yes, they trained me very well.
They would’ve preferred that I stay.

The path that I have taken in my life, is also
the path I'll take to my death.
Skeletons and all.
