In the story of life on Earth, populations wipe each other out. That humans do it is not surprising. In fact, it would be more than astonishing if they did not. I'll bet that would even have jjl in the church of his choice! Well, okay maybe not.
Point being that it would be so bizarre and apart from nature that it would be a mystical thing.
Why, I think that even Scotland and England have been thrashing each other senseless for millenia and most of us on this side of the pond can't tell the difference between a haggis-eating celt and an effete royalist. They all kind sound and look alike, share a itty-bitty island and squeal about things taht must be horribly important to somebody.
We should all move to Easter Island and learn about getting along. We're probably more like the previous inhabitants than we'd care to admit. Like the difference is one of scale, not quality.
