Here's a fun exersize for those of you who like geometry problems.
Take the volume of ice in the poles above sea level.
Take the surface of the Earth at present.
Melt the ice. Remember that ice is less dense than water, so you'll get an easily computable volume difference due to temperature.
How much will the sea level rise?
Now take the predicted rate of change in global ocean temperature. Assume ocean mixing. How much will the change in ocean density affect sea level rise?
If you lived in Holland, Florida, Louisiana, Bangladesh, or London, what do you think would be a good idea to do in the next 50 years?
