RE: Is it possible Bush is right?
How can a multitude of wrongs make a right? Bush was wrong to invade a country that posed no threat to us; wrong to tell us for certain that there were WMD, when they're weren't; wrong to assume that forcing democracy on a radically different culture would be easy; wrong to estimate that this venture would cost between $50-60 billion, when it has now run over $300 billion; wrong to blow off our staunchest allies; wrong to link Iraq with 9/11, which was a cynical use of this national disaster to promote his agenda. He was wrong, wrong, wrong, and in being so wrong, he exhibited no understanding of the history of imperialist attempts to change other countries for our own purposes. He has led us into a war that is eating our resources and killing thousands of America's finest, for what? For a long, slow, miserable quagmire that will go on for at least the rest of his term, and most likely beyond.
