It's not Colorado. It's the tenure system in most educational institutions. It is the worst thing that has ever happened in our schools. I refused tenure when it was offered...

There you go, we actually agree on something. It's all too easy for tenure to lead to complacency -- or worse.

Notice that I am in no trouble at all for comparing Jayhawk to Nazis.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Worse! It leads to idiots like Churchill getting a pass from the liberal educational establishment.

Well, Churchill is a special kind of nut, and CU is responsible for offering that nut tenure in the first place.

The fact that they got rid of this fraud shows me the system works.

They got rid of that fraud in spite of the system. It was pure public outrage that caused them to "find a way" to fire his ass.

I agree that public outrage sparked the investigations, however the initial outrage was not the cause of his removal, because he has freedom of speech. Too bad you don't like what he has to say, he had the right to say it. He was removed because he is a fraud and a cheat.

Look at the hoops to go through, and the years of litigation potentially looming ahead. Yeah, the system works, it just works very, very poorly.
