how can I get my wife to drive her new car?

I bought the old ball & chain a nissan micra a month ago (for christmas), and she hasn't driven it more than 300 yards. She hasn't driven for a few years, but she said she would if I bought her a small car. I argued for a while re the virtues of MBs to no avail ('they're enormous!'), so I found the smallest car I could at auction.

I've tried threatening to sell it if she doesn't use it, but she keeps saying 'I'll use it tommorow'.

I'm getting frustrated. Any ideas? Am I the one with the problem, or isn't there a problem?

If your wife isn't giving you hell about anything, I'd just leave it lie... Even if she doesn't use the car, it has served a purpose, hasn't it?

No she isn't. I suggested a few driving lessons (not from me!) but no movement there.

Maybe I could bribe her with something?

Exactly - it's like a freaking biscuit tin.

I need a new engine for the 560, so it's tempting..but I guess I would pay for it more in the end...?

My son would say to go into town (with your car)then call her and tell her they're having a 1/2 price shoe sale at her favorite store [:D]

ha ha ha! that might just work LK. JJ, believe it or not my sister did'nt get her liscense to drive until she was nearly 35. For some reason she just felt uncomfortable. Now she's fine....drives alittle fast for my tastes. No amount of cajoling or pressure from anyone could persuade her to drive until she was ready. Good luck sir.
