RE: illegal immigration-how the democrats could regain power tomorrow
they can when the political enviornment allows them to. Not likely? Never underestimate the motivations of politicians to pander to groups with the power of numbers/votes. Can illegals vote? yes, if they don't have to prove citizenship before they do. That's one of the reasons for prop 200 in AZ. Unfortunately, the Mexican gov. is moving to block that law. Nice.
as to Kuan's bed time story, My brother works in the home building industry. He tells me that they illegals on the various crews earn less than the citizens because the employers never claim them and pay them in cash...no taxes are paid and no SSI is paid. Sure, some of the money stays here in the US, but most of it goes to Mexico to the families. Some of those families save the money to pay the cost of moving everyone here. The burden on society is greater than the benefit to society as thing are. There are now more illegals in the home buliding industry here than there are citizens.
This is not the point really, the point is that unless we control our boarders, we are vulnerable to attack by the nefarious ones who come to destroy or inflict harm on us.....and i'm not talking mexicans now.
