Funeral Songs

A friend who tends to lean toward the dark side, just emailed me wondering what songs I'd want played at my funeral. Immediately, I thought of Amazing Grace or Ava Maria, but then the subject started to intrigue me. How about Rock/Pop or old standards?

I chose -

1. Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp

2. Everybody Hurts by R.E.M.

3. With or without you by U-2

4. Sleepwalk by Santo & Johnny

5. My Way by Frank Sinatra

How bout your picks?

By the way, The Byrds version of My back pages, deserves a mention but I could never figure out the meaning. Any ideas?

RE: Funeral Songs

Return to innocense by Enigma without a doubt. There wont be a dry eye in the house.

It's sad because not alot of people will take part on this page because most of them live in denial. Noone lives forever, maybe we all should take some time to think about such things.

"Sleep All Day" by Jason Mraz. Kinda fitting given the circumstances.

RE: Funeral Songs

MRTIKKET, how about "Hit the Road Jack" or maybe some skinhead music where attendees at your funeral can do the mash pit.[}:)]

RE: Funeral Songs

Hehe......any "Dirt Nap" ditty will work for me! I mean, like.....I'm gonna be there to hear it. Have all attendees throw a party on your behalf, with THEIR selection of music, and get on with your lives.

Life is not a dress rehearsal!
