Lennon McCartney didn't even write most of their songs. Lennon wouldn't have contributed anything more if he had lived......

The British invasion boils down to two things. Either you are a Beatles fan or a Stones fan. Stones fan here!!!

When John Lennon died, he was just a puppet controlled by his Marxist bitch wife. A shell of a human being. Far too much has been made of his miserable life. The least talented Beatle.

RE: A Very Sad Day .......

I knew Sean (his youngest son) in Highscool,... boy did he have a chip on his shoulder, probably had something to do with that fact that his mommy was responsible for ruining the Beatles.

John Lennon had a wonderful voice,... but personally I preffered the stones and the Monkees[:D].

Still, no matter how someone lived their life,.. may their bodies rest in peace and may god pass fair judgement on their souls.

Storm,
I know taste is a very personal thing, BUT, How do the Stones, and the Monkeys, belong in the same sentence? ( Except for that one). They were almost opposites in every conceivable manner.
Speaking of Lenon/ McCartny, When my son was working on his Bachelor's in Music, he played the local coffee house scene. He did a lot of Lenon/McMartny covers, as well as a lot of original stuff. One night he threw in an original piece in the stlye of Lenon/ McCartny, and was almost embarassed by the attention. Seems like a lot of his audience thought he had found a lost L/M original. I guess he had their style down pretty well.

Simple answer,... same era. I have never been bound by rules which state that I have to listen to only one band or only one kind of music,... I listen to what I like. And yeah I think Zeppelin was, and still is the bomb[;)]

The Stones were all about the show. There was nothing like their live show. Musically, they mostly recycled old blues stuff thru an amp and penned a few forgetable hits on their own. Lennon, on the other hand was a musical genius who will be in the history books long after Mick and the gang become foot notes.
