RE: Which Mercedes ??

I have been in the Middle East for about 10 years. Not all folks there are bad. We just have problems with the extreme fanatic religious groups that want power. Unfortunately the local governments in the Middle East are walking on a thin line of trying to stop the fanatic religious groups because the government does not want to loose power as well.

If we remember the western history of religion, the Spanish Inquisition did the same thing during the dark ages. In 1995 Aum Shinrikyo gas a lot of folks in the subways of Japan. Aum Shinrikyo is a Japanese religious terror group.

Hezbollah may have good intentions in the beginning, but it has turn into a terrorist group of killing innocent folks.

I got most of my information from the Internet and by living around the world.

Thanks tiggerfink for the info. I went through the whole site just now. There are a lot of things that are not that accurate, but I agree with most of it.
Very interesting.
Another thing is that there a lot of accusations that are still that. What I mean is that there are no or little evidence so far to conclude a judgement.
Another point, is that most of what was said wasn't put in the context of war. We suffered from a war that lasted from 1975-1990. Although they called it a civil war, I beg to differ. It was a war including Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Lybia, France, Italy and the US. They all participated in the war in one time or another.
It couldn't be more internationalized.

And in time of war, a lot of bad things happen on all sides. And I'm not justifying these actions. I'm against any form of terrorism anywhere anytime. We're one of the countries that suffered the most from terrorism. My father was almost killed by a bomb in the eighties. It happended few meters in front of him. We had cars blowing up everyday, even in movie theaters under the seats. I tell you it was horrible. It was like what's happening in Iraq, but worse: On a daily basis for 15 years. Nearly 200,000 civilians dead. Thank God it's all over now. It's been peace for like 14 years now. Hope it last [;)].

RE: Which Mercedes ??

I lived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Our home was in a compound by the Red Sea. I loved it there. I did the following activates when I was there; played soccer, fish a lot, sailed my sail boat, and visit the outdoor shopping areas. Love to eat lamb meat on my pitia bread that is roasting on some stick. I visit Beirut and drank some goat milk moonshine. I think it is called urusal? I also visit the topless beaches in Saudi Arabia.

I also went on a safari in Kenya, Africa and visit the pyramids in Egypt.

RE: Which Mercedes ??

In the R129's it should be the SL73, and in the R230's the SL65.

RE: Which Mercedes ??

I was born in South Korea. I want to visit the Middle East and Africa again, but my wife is afraid of getting blown up.

My first Mercedes is a 2002 SLK320 and my second Mercedes is a 2004 SL500.

RE: Which Mercedes ??

Tell her not to worry about that. It's safe here as any other country in the world. The risk is even lower.

Did you like the new SLK R171? Think of exchanging it?
