My friend needs alot of help here...

My friend dave...was never really that..."good"...he got kicked out of preschool the first day...haha...got in trouble all the way to his 2nd highschool which he just got expelled from..he owes his parents about 2 grand and doesnt have a job, lives in his basement. Hes constinatly in trouble with the law and is right now on probation (prior to accident)(sells weed). Hes been driving illegally for a year now when his parents arent home and well...it caught up with him...he pulled out a little to slowly and got hit in the left rear from a car going about 55-60 mph that wasnt slowing down (didnt see him)

Dave=
1. no license
2. insurance papers werent in the car (the car is insured though)
3. missed the stop sign (aparently)
4. fleed the scene of an accident (chevy s10=tank)
5. had 2 friends in the car
6. a third party chased him (got license/car make)
7. third party cut him off and tried dragging him out of the car
8. he sped off almost running over the guy who tried to get him to return to the scene of the accident (ripping his shirt in the process)
9. car followed him as he dropped his two friends off
10. dave finally returned to the scene where he was arrested and his dads car impounded.

people who hit him
1. Going the proper speed limit
2. Father and little girl
3. Little girl almost died.

Now.....daves in ALOT of trouble here....any at all advice will be much appretiated. His lawyer told him that their going to sue the hell out of the guy that chased him for (agrivated assault) and a BUNCH of other crap..might even save his ass. Hes not a bad person..he just has a little too much fun..the first 3 tickets they gave him were

1. driving without a license
2. driving without insurance
3. reckless driving

The cop promised him alot more would be coming in the mail.

Any advice? anything? so far...all he was told is that he has to pay

1. his car bill
2. THEIR car bill (in FULL)
3. THEIR medical bills (in FULL)
4. All the tickets (in FULL)
5. Ontop of this hes probably not getting his license until hes 21 and might even be imprisoned..

and no im not being biased at all...this really sucks.

OK now picture this, you are on a jury, and it's a civil case. Some 17 y.o. jag off who almost killed a little girl and fled the scene and doesn't have a DL is suing some guy for ripping his shirt.
Just how much money are you going to give him?

If that is what your friends lawyer is banking on Dave's in a lot of trouble.

Dave's screwed, Dave's doing time. Sound's like this was where Dave was going sooner or later. But I can't imagine the judge that's not going to throw him under the jail.

Want some advise? tell Dave to start taking boxing lessons.

Dave is an immature, dangerous ass. You hang around him, you'll get hurt and he'll not give a $hit. Don't be a fool.

Dave needs to go see a Marine recruiter, and take a scenic tour of Iraq. The military can erase alot of his legal problems and give him some valuable lessons in life.

My advice to you is to tell David you're still his friend but that you can't hang around him anymore cause "you're just too pretty for jail". He might want to stock up on cigarettes and condoms.

RE: My friend needs alot of help here...

Have to wait till the other tickets come in but the cop didn't charge him with flee the accident? Anyway as long as the car he was driving has insurance that insurance will pay for it, in washington anyway, figure its probably the same in that state also, yeah that guy that tried to be a good samaritan is going to get into trouble for doing what he did, he's not a cop, your buddy came back to the accident so not sure what that means, sucks for the little girl she'll probably get alot of money out of this.

1. Your friends immature and stupid, so are his friends for driving with him.
2. He shouldn't have driven off, but he was young and didn't have his lisense so doesn't know the rules.
3. Did return to the scene and was give a ticket for 3 offenses, one he will be able to get thrown out.
4. Because the car was insured hopefully it has enough coverage to pay the bills.
5. The "Good samaritan" could have been killed by his stupid actions and probably commited a crime which he will have to pay for.
6. It doesn't sound like your friend did it on purpose so it was a tragic accident and I'm sure he'll be regretting it for along time.
7. He will probably have to do some jail time.

RE: My friend needs alot of help here...

Yeah dave told me he had every intention on going back to the scene but... you know hes freakin out he has no idea what to do ontop of him not having a license. but he called 911 the second it happened and he started to drive away and they got on tape the guy screaming at him and trying to open his door and crap...so hes gonna use that as "the reason he fled" because the guy was trying to kill him etc. Daves got 2 witnesses that were IN the car with him ontop of a tape recording of the events from the 911 operator. The "good" samaritan is definatly going to get in trouble for what he did. Ill keep you posted on the events as they unfold, for those of you who want to see him locked up.
