The point is, you're not getting censored, you're getting slapped for being a jerk.

I knew that was gonna go down in flames -- Cap posted an equally pointed topic at KV, which was also summarily removed. These are sensitive times at MS my friend -- it's probably best not to mention names at all for a while and just stick to anonymous topics.
Dacia, each of these forums has a right to set their standards. This forum allows posting of threads that are specifically about a particular poster. That is actually not good, but after being subject to a few I certainly did not mind joining in on the Cap'n one, however I totally agree with M Shop enforcing a policy against the practice, especially at a time they are trying to set the tone for the place. Since the readership is the same at both forums, more or less, you probably got your point across. Do not be discouraged and call it censorship. It would be a more worthy approach to counter some of the opinions and thinking exemplified by the target of your wrath, with reasoned opinions.

That's your point, not mine, Kirk.

My comments wasn't directed to Cap'n in particular so I shouldn't have quoted him. But as I was reading down the comments my response got formulated at about his post. So take it as a random drive-by shooting of an innocent gangsta by a guilty one. Sorry 'bout that.

Botnst:
I agree with your summarization. I did not post to question the house rules, I am fully aware of the implications that come with private ownership and free enterpise regarding this medium. I was simply curious as to what could be the reason for the removal of the post. Since none of my posts (to date [8D]) have contained explicits, or scathing personal attacks, it did not occure to me that the little sarcasm that the post contained would constitute breaking of the obviously newly minted rules.
Truthfully, I liked the old OD better, this is too sanitised for my taste, however I am fully aware that the choice is mine to visit or not.

Cap'n:
The musing in my post ie.: "Or it is entirely possible that the Cap'n has some clout after all and fights his battles by proxy." was just a rhetorical one, it did not require an answer 'cause I really don't care either way. And as Gstar pointed it out your post was also removed, so.....

Kvining:
"Dacia, each of these forums has a right to set their standards. This forum allows posting of threads that are specifically about a particular poster. I actually don't see posting about individuals as too big of a deal as long as the language is civilized. The problem arises when a group of people gang up and beat up on one poster. I specifically worded my post as not to appear inflammatory or insulting. It was not my intention, the Cap'n's one liners were somewhat of an irritation, they never contained anything relevant, their sole purpose (as far as I could tell) were to egg you on, so I could not resist rubing it in. [8D] I guess even that much isn't tolerated anymore. Duly noted. And I don't have "wrath", this is strictly for entertainment and sometimes a learning experience, I don't get emotionally involved, but I like broadening my horizon.

This Benz forum contains something new to me. I have never been to a forum where the so called liberals can out number the conservatives. Incredibly refreshing. Gives me hope for the future of this country after all the unpatriotic, conservative rhetoric.

They are just avoiding the mess we had before. No matter how innocent you may have felt your post was, all you have to do is refer back a few months and recall how out of hand things got. I don't blame them for running interference. They hesitated to re-open OD, and have gracefully done it. The least we can do over there is respect their wishes to keep it civil, and be careful of the direction we go with our topics, or they'll just simply shut it down again. Simple as that.
