RE: Call to kill terrorists 'in the name of the Lord' sparks outcry
I was leaving work once when I was with General Dynamics, Electric Boat in Groton, CT, when just outside the gate is a cluster of local news people and the Rev. Jackson. This was quite a while ago and I think he was running for President or something. I wedged my way up to the front of the crowd to see what was going on and found Jackson surrounded by 5 or 6 reporters being debriefed on some meeting with Union reps at the shipyard. Anyway, one of the reporters breathlessly asks him "Rev. Jackson, as you travel on this whirlwind tour through Connecticut, what do you leave in your wake?" Jackson paused for a second, and then replied, "Mostly foolish news reporters asking meaningless questions!" and then he turned and left. I thought it was funny and started laughing. I think I was the only one.
While I am not a fan of the Rev. Jackson, I did think that response was better than most politicians would give in a situation like that. Jim
