RE: America has Spoken: 4 More Years for Pres. Bush . . .
Try another country if you dont like the impression this one is making. I will buy your travel ticket.
Good. For those that can't accept it, leave this country. Get out of here, socialists, and don't look back. All news sounds appealing to me. Good job, Dubya!
It's these kinds of comments that really strike a chord. I am only 39, but I recall when people disagreed with each other, and debated. There was discussion. Today, the only answer is "I'm right and you should fuck off." "If you don't like it, leave." And so on. Discussion has turned into "I made a statement and if you disagree, screw you."
Sure, the world was always filled with bigots, close minded people, and hate-mongers. Maybe I just didn't come in contact with so many without the internet?
Why so much anger? Why are so many of the neo-cons I meet angry at everything and everybody? In sitting down with a cuppa for some friendly debate, within two minutes they turn hostile and play the "you should get out" card.
It looks like Bush won, and hopefully fair and square. The real problem that I think the US is facing is that it's nearly a 50/50 vote. The nation seems polarized with half the country taking one side and half taking the other. The nation is split and I think it's unproductive. There is a lack of clear vision on either side. Bush may be "loved" by many, but I didn't see where he painted a realistic future for the US. Did Kerry? Both sides debated thirty year old war records (huh?) and other nonsensical crap. I know that the war is a focal point, but in the lives of 99% of US citizens, it's background noise. The economy and the future of the middle class were non-starter topics. Cripes.
Good luck to you, and don't let the two term rule be repealed...
I'm really trying to see things from your perspective, but I'm having trouble getting my head up my ass
