trick or treat

last night we had only about 12 kids come by for candy. I see more kids than that almost every time I drive down the street! Is it becoming passe to trick-or-treat?
I remember getting raving groups of kids together and plundering multiple neighborhoods before finally quitting when all the lights went off. Do we need some new, low-carb treat to pass out to the newly sugar-conscious kids?[;)]

what gives?

RE: trick or treat

I had fewer kids last night than I did last year. A few of the more prolific beggars moved away over the summer, but I think the fact it fell on a Sunday night this year hampered some of the trick or treating. Also, I know some people who take their kids to malls or parties instead of letting them go door to door :P

The good side is, more candy left over for me :D

Attack of the miniature carpet baggers

We carted our two kids over to a wealthy Liberal neighborhood next to the state capitol. Nearly every house participated and the kids filled up quickly. My little Robin Hoods will be infiltrating other weatlthy communities next year...teach'n em young.

I had one trick-or-treater - one. And he was being driven door to door in a large BMW..... It's a different world than the one I remember.....

RE: trick or treat

Holloween house parties are overtaking the door to door candy collection. It is indeed a different world.

RE: trick or treat

Heavy rain kept them to a minimum around here this year. Of course, having a 20 foot dumpster in the driveway blocking the path to the front door may have helped some also.

I had a carpet shipped to me a couple months ago -- probably not the same one, tho... [:D] Actually, that is quite a coincidence -- it's a pretty small town.

RE: trick or treat

I thought my mom was nuts when she told that kids from poorer suburbs were trick or treating in my folks area. A wealthy Republican suburb. Personally, I find this practice to be disgusting.
