If you add Republicans, Democrats, and Libertarians to the poll, you'll probably get a lot more action. [:D]

RE: Which is the better platform?

Unix is the most powerful, but I don't think you'll want to use it for home use.

I didn't know Kerry HAD a platform, other than complaining about stuff and then supporting it!

Depends on what the criteria is.
Can you be more specific?

From a Sys Adm that has used HPUX (HP UNIX), Solaris (Sun) and MS Windows95-XP pro. UNIX is best with variations such as Linux and Solaris.

It all depends on what you need ot use it for. At home its generally best to use windows,... otherwise Unix or Linux without a doubt.

RE: Which is the better platform?

Lets be more specific eh? There are several flavors of windows I wouldn't be caught dead using (ME, XP), but others I use regularly (2k advanced server). For my main home machine, I'm running Slackware/Win2k AS. On my two server boxes, I'm running Debian and Fedora Core 1. For my laptop, I'm running win2k pro because it's pretty old and I can't get much functionality with any flavor of Linux out of it. I also have a G4 Powerbook, which runs... guess what... OSX! I only use that for live sound recording.

Anyways, what I'm saying is that there is no "better" os. Each one has it's specific purposes and uses, and are also tied into the user's preferences and knowledge.
