RE: Bush and Religion: The First Postmodern President
Lets compare Bush with Jimmy Carter for a moment. Carter was a man of faith who didn't use religious-speak to drive points home. Instead, his actions reflected his faith. He may have been a lousy president, but as a man, Carter earned the respect of the nation. Then we have Bush, who regularly employs religious-speak, but doesn't back it up with actions, preferring war to peace, and misdirection to candor and honesty. It's shocking how many Americans fall for this stuff. I assume many of the same people financially support Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swaggart, and Jim Baker. Is it really that hard to tell that Carter is a man of faith and Bush is a shill?
