If I was at the pearly gates when this gentleman showed up, I'd be asking some tough questions. Why didn't he do it when he was younger? Why didn't he give a portion of his money to the church? Were you too old to do much else with your life anyway? Are you trying to earn some extra moral credit?
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll be asked those and many more questions. I'm a little more worried about the questions I'll have to answer![:0]
As it is, though, it doesn't bother me one bit if he led a less than moral life beforehand. I doubt he did, and I assume he gave a lot to the church and charitable organizations-- as do many of us who aren't rich. Isn't it a good thing if someone turns their life around to a more moral one? The important thing is the person that he is now.

No Stefano, the important thing to do when you see something like this is to say something dismissive of the Catholic Church, denigrate a profession of faith, and disparage acting on one's faith to the betterment of self and mankind.
I hope this helps you understand where you went wrong.

I'll tip my hat to the guy. However you want to view it, it can't be a life in the lap of luxery to take on that lifestyle. I know I couldn't do it. Say what you want about what he did with his money. That was his choice.
