I think it's disgraceful we (the US) treat people differently because they are not citizens or we label then "unlawful combatants". Our Bill of Rights makes no distinction between citizens and non-citizens; rather our rights are not changeable (remember 'inalienable') as they are granted by GOD. We have the capability of upholding these rights for all people - if we do that, we can lead by example, and gain global support in our efforts.
What, tehre should be no advantage confered with citizenship? Great idea.
Where is there no advantage to citizenship? If you are a citizen here, you should have your rights respected. If you are under another government, your rights may or may not be respected, but if the US invades, you might just welcome it if you know we would respect your rights.
Like the rights of the Japanese Americans right after Pearl Harbor?
