"W" paid 21% and I paid 28%. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm as much for tax evasion as the next guy, but if elected will Kerry and "Thur ra sa" have to pay more too?

The more money you have, the better accountant you can hire.[^]

My guess is that they'll appear to pay more taxes, but there'll be a shelter somewhere too. But that's the way our tax system works. As a self-employed person, I take advantage as well.[;)]

Current:
1995 E-320, 163*** miles
1987 190-E 16-valve, 150*** miles

Former:
1980 300-D, approx. 225*** miles, donated to the National Kidney Foundation.
1980 240-D, 297500 miles, totalled when hit by innatentive driver. Missed dearly.

We're all subject to the same tax table, what's the big deal? So someone has less taxable income than you, and more likely than not, there are those with more taxable income than you. I don't get the point.

Someone tell me, what income is not taxed?

All hail the Sixteen Men of Tain!

No thanks, I'm a heterosexual.[:D]

There is an appearance that Waffle House is a hypocrite. And I wish you wouldn't stalk my threads. You always turn them into something political!!![:(]

Where did you ever get that idea from?

Quote:
In 2003, Sen. John Kerry had $395,000 in taxable income and paid $90,575 in federal income taxes
That's about 23% if you can't do the math.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/04/13/politics/main611620.shtml

also

Quote:
Heinz Kerry paid $750,000 toward her 2003 federal, state and local income tax liability at the time of the extension filing, or about 32 percent of her gross taxable income.

Their "tax evasion" is pretty much a bunch of bonds that they hold, but aren't for themselves. Add giving to charity to that list too.

I seriously doubt that Mr & Mrs Kerry used the 1040A short form, so unless the source quoted by the original post provides details about tax credits, deductions, deferred tax liability, and other specifics, the percentages quoted can't tell the whole story. That's the problem with both candidates, an elemental problem with telling "the whole story."

BTW, it amazes me that some of yall can immediately produce links that relate to any story but only support one side. And FWIT worth, I'd be real apprehensive about quoting anything from CBS. [;)]

Funny, you didn't post any links at all. For all I know, you could be making this stuff up. Also, note the Fox News link. Even your favorite channel went against what you stated.

Funny it amazes me that I constantly see people on the right post false and misleading facts that they get from the various right wing sites and no matter how many times these threads are debunked they never wonder if maybe they should start being sceptical of what their right wing masters say.
