Steelers 4/1 with a rookie qb

Dunno if there are any NFL fans over here, but I'm excited about the steelers being 4/1, especially after the insertion of the rookie #1 draft pick at qb. He's playing great ball, and now I fear I may have to get better at fixing the wagons so they only take up saturdays and no sundays from now on; I'll need to watch the games every week! no more radio!

how is your team doing?

My hometown team, the Pats, won their 19th straight game Sunday. The Steelers will bow down to their rule.

My adopted town's team, The Texans, well, we just don't want to talk about them right now.

Boooo GS. Don't bring your slow Baseball talk here.

You aren't kidding, DJ. Roethlisberger is blowing it up. Burress is coming alive and Staley is doing a hell of a job running the ball (even though Bettis is there to vulture the 1 yd TDs).

KV, while I agree with your politics (although I'm a little more moderate), I disagree with your football. The Pats need to go down. I have no idea why but I viscerally dislike this team. They almost never get called for dirty defense. Its almost like its rigged. Last year you'd see Ty Law practically climbing over receivers with no pass ineterference flag to be found. Hopefully that isn't continuing.

By the way, did anyone notice Deion Sanders practically mugging Lav Coles last night during the game. On consecutive plays he was all over him, but no flag was thrown. So much for enforcing the 5 yard no touch rule.

It is the Pats utter perfection that irks all who oppose them.

nah, it's that they are boring to watch. I think you got a steal in Dillon though- great back who was wasting away in Cinci. FWIW, I'm a boston fan as well, and I'd trade the Pats for a redsox series right about now... Or, I'd settle for the pats going back to the good old logo rather than the severed head...

Who do you think will beat these Pats? Seattle next week? Eagles? Steelers? I'm glad the latter two of those games are in Pgh!

I dunno if the Steelers pass defense is ready for a real qb. if we get kendrell bell back, and he's playing well, it might help the pressure. But our offense is the mystery. It's looked good against chumps so far, but how will they do against real NFL teams... with Cowboys, bye, eagles, pats... could find out right quickly!

welcome to the afc north. the ravens are the absolute dirtiest team who gets away with everything in the league. even the drunk announcing crew was able to see it. I guess you can't call Pass Interference on every play, but c'mon... that was insane. I can't believe they are sticking with Boller at qb, but with Kordell at backup... ugh.. craptastic options. The two lowest rated qbs in the league last year...

ASTROS BEAT LANTA!

Great game if you like home runs. Stroes bombed em 12 to 3:

Man, now I got to see if I can get playoff tickets. Just think, a possible Astros - Red Sox series, I won't know who to root for!

RE: Steelers 4/1 with a rookie qb

this stupid city doesn't deserve any good sports teams. I've gone to see all of the teams- falcons, hawks, braves, thrashers... and they are almost never sold out, and often only 1/2 full. even the playoffs were not sold out. The steelers are sold out 10 years in advance... All of the viewing venues are amazing and relatively new except the georgia dome... (why do we have a dome in georgia???)Baseball especially (about which I could generally care less) seems to be low on most people's priority list, and there is such little excitement for a team doing well. I heard more last week about the 4-0 falcons than the braves. stupid. I'm glad the 'stros won... now, hopefully the yankees can get creamed and there can be an interesting series.

Whatever- I don't care about baseball anyway.
