Support our troops: Marines tell the real story of Iraq War. Here's a hint - sounds like "NAM"
OK all you right wingers, looks like the Marine Corp is going "liberal" on you:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6214573/
Endless war. No purpose. Leaders at home lying to voters. Where have I heard that before? Its been a long time, but its all coming back to me now.... oh yeah, it was around 1968..........
But Perez said he came to think that war in Iraq was unrelated to his anger. "How do I put this?" he said. "First of all, this is a whole different thing. We're supposed to be looking for al Qaeda. They're the ones who are supposedly responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks. This has no connection at all to Sept. 11 because this war started just by telling us about all the nuclear warheads over here."
Snyder, who was listening, added: "Pretty much I think they just diverted the war on terrorism. I agree with the Afghanistan war and all the Sept. 11 stuff, but it feels like they left the bigger war over there to come here. And now, while we're on the ground over here, it seems like we're not even close to catching frigging bin Laden.".........
........
Asked if he was concerned that the Marines would be punished for speaking out, Autin responded: "We don't give a crap. What are they going to do, send us to Iraq?"

Its this! It reminds me of this! I knew I would remember!
I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die

Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonnadie.
Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those reds
The only good commie is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Well, come on Wall Street, don't move slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go.
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong!
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.
And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die!

i think it was right to remove sadam but a special forces could have dont it with a sniper and when someone took his place just keep popping them off, only problem with this kind of war is its urban so many will die they should have done it the old way and put their flag up

The views of the mortar platoon of some 50 young Marines, several of whom fought during the first phase of the war last year, are not necessarily reflective of all or even most U.S troops fighting in Iraq.

Your denial system is remarkable. These are front line combat troops, and they not only said the war was a waste, they called the President a liar. Pretty strong stuff coming from a few random 19 year olds. Looks to me like Kerry has another voting block signed up. Nobody wants to give their lives for nothing. These guys now percieve that is what they are doing, now that they have seen first hand the truth in Iraq.

I'm different i go back to take the land and fly the flag not urban war which goes on forever and takes many lives, a full blanket bombing removes the enemy
thats my way, it should have been done in nam/afghan/Iraq and any other intender

Ah but the views of the Captain you posted earlier are?

The war in Iraq is not Vietnam. Iraq and Vietnam do have some similarities, however:
1. US solders/service men/women dying needlessly.
2. The war is being fought for political, not military reasons.
3. Lack of understanding/knowledge of the local customs and people.
4. Failed “Hearts and Minds campaign.
5. American people being lied to at home.
No, this is more like Israel and Palestine – the bombings and other terrorists attacks will continue as long as the US military is present, it could last years. And the Americans are having as much success as the Israelis.
