Just got back from Hershey.( AACA East Regional Fall Meet)
For the second year in a row---no rain.
What a great meet. some 90,000 vendor spaces, ( even if some are used for vendor car parking) there are still a lot of parts. Someone said that walking every vendor space, up, and down each ailse would take 70 miles of walking!
More MB in the Car Coral than I've seen before. From a real clean '79 300TD w/ ALL service records, to several SLs even a gull wing. Prices from reasonable to ridiculous.
Rarest car I saw---I like to spend Sat early am watching the "trailer Queens" get unloaded and polihed up prior to driving to the show field, ( AACA requires all cars to be driven under their own power to the show field)--any way, I was wandering around this am, and saw a gray, large car, full sedan, custom bodied car from the classic era. Closer examination revealed the chasis to be a Minerva, from Antwerp, Belgium, with a custom body by " ( I forget)___ and Darin). exquisite!, perfect. The owner/restorer was very friendly and eager to tell me about it--not like on the show field where there are too many people. Turns out its a 1, of 1, the only Minerva with a body by this particular coach builder.
Power is by a large sleeve-valve engine.
Lots of really great cars, wow I'm tired.
How about a get-to-gether next year? Maybe a hopitality tent?
