Anybody do high school reunions?

My high school just had our 30th last month. I've never gone to any of them thru the years. Not really anybody I want to see. But it would have been kinda fun to go to the 30th, and see how kind (or unkind) the years have been to everybody.

RE: Anybody do high school reunions?

I went to my 20th, nearly twenty years ago, I guess.

It was okay. My great moment was introducing my wife to a former girlfriend of mine. She was cute and shy in school and like most kids that age, kind of awkward and silly. She had a great smile and was very smart. I was always fond of her but we'd lost touch soon after graduation. Well, little miss had grown-up to be a beautiful, graceful, sweetheart of a woman. Nice husband and kids.

I loved the look on my wife's face when I introduced them to each other. That was a priceless moment. Heck, my face probably showed it, too.

In a related story, we celebrated our 29th anniversary yesterday.

RE: Anybody do high school reunions?

We went to our 20th summer of 2003 and it was fantastic. Most of my class is successful in an incredible way (no investment bankers, but lots of teachers, researchers, etc.) and we had an amazing time catching up.

We had to make a 24 hour drive each way, but it was more than worth it. We made a side trip to Alaska and it was more beautiful than I remembered.

Overall, I would rate our 20th (my wife and I were school sweeties) as one of the most memorable experiences I have had. Of course, your mileage may vary greatly...

I'm really trying to see things from your perspective, but I'm having trouble getting my head up my ass

Went to my 10th. Which was fun, in a "kinda the cheerleaders that wouldn't talk to me got fat kinda way".
Have my 30th coming up this year and in the words of some unnamed comedian "Oh Shit, that means I only have 6 months to make something out of my life!"[:D]

Reunions, BAH![:(!]

I was short, pimply-faced, fashion challenged, unathletic, unacademic, unattached...even the "nerds" thought I was too nerdy! [:p]

Didn't really care for any of them, so I couldn't care less what they are doing with their lives now (or ever)!

Bitter? Not at all! I grew to an avarage height, my complexion cleared up, I got my MBA, a decent career, 3 MBs, and I married a cheerleader and athlete!

And my daughter is the antithesis of what I was as a kid...beautiful, popular, straight-A's and top forward on her soccer team!

Nevertheless, I could go to my 30th and demonstrate how I've changed, but I don't feel the need to attend a gathering of folks that I had no attachment to in the first place...[;)]

RE: Anybody do high school reunions?

We were never sent any type of info regarding a reunion. I don't think that the Nerdy types who organize those things wanted to see me. LOL

It would have been cool to see the guys(all boys) after 20 years.

Funny thing is, after 20 years the school runs into financial hardship and some jackass who I've never heard of starts sending letters to all the alumni asking for donations.

Some of the guys are planning a reunion this fall so I will get a chance to see the ones I actually hung out with.

RE: Anybody do high school reunions?

I've got my 10th reunion coming up next year! Was thinking about going but now I'm not so sure. It was just full of girl drama (went to an all girl private catholic hs).

I am curious to see who got fat though. I was always the skinny one, 95 lbs by my senior year at 5'6, and everybody said I would balloon up when I got older. Would be nice to walk in at 5'8, 110 lbs and say "yah, I sure did blow up like a whale". =)

Courtney =)
