TROLL CONTROL: Bonercman

Once again I feel compelled to ask for group help in controlling a troll problem. We seem to have a disturbed person who feels he has a right to destroy the enjoyment of this forum that other users desire, by creating thread after thread of nonsense, making it impossibe for those of us who are here for a serious discussion of the issues and perhaps to enjoy each other's company, to do so. Again I ask all who may still be here inspite of this troll attack by a person who does not desire us to live in peace, to email Frank and ask he be banned. This person simply has no respect for the rights of others.

Kirk,

It doesn't seem like there is an "ignore" feature on this board. I never used it before but am sorely tempted. Banning this troll is not likely to work as he can rejoin with another name and do the same thing. Pretty soon this forum becomes more trouble than it is worth to the site owners and he gets his wish. I think the best thing is to ignore him entirely. Eventually he has to get tired of posting his nonesense. Jim

RE: TROLL CONTROL: Bonercman

Perhaps knowing how others feel about what he is doing, which is abuse, pure and simple, will get him to behave himself. I don't see the forum community growing or improving as long as we all are subject to this type of harassment. Without an ignore feature, I see this as the only recourse. We all know this is the result of bad feelings from the Mercedesshop situation. The individual means to make this board impossible to use. Perhaps others have suggestions on how to control the situation if banning won't work.

Ignore him, i do. But I feel this thread needs to be here so that new people who stop in will have some warning before they see twenty threads on democrats being child molestors and concluding that is what we are discussing here.

RE: TROLL CONTROL: Bonercman

Well for the record I feel the same way you all do about this recent troll.

I used to be a moderator at MShop many moons ago and I will tell you that complaints like that against other members, after awhile, will make the site owner feel that the off-topic area is more trouble than it is worth. I remember emails to and from Bill Woods a couple of times two years ago regarding Open Discussion and he came close to closing OD down many times before he actually did so.

I guess what I am trying to say is go ahead and PM to Frank if you like, but try to save those complaint PMs for serious stuff, because if it's volunteer work keeping this forum going, dealing with complaints can get awfully old, awfully fast.
