Summing-up, the folks that didn't like Bush reinforced their dislike whilst the folks who didn't like Kerry reinforced their theirs.

Meanwhile, the spineless, whining middle waited until some sort of concensus emerged and then said, "Me too", with resounding authority and conviction. In the next few days as the various campaigns and campaigners mis-use, abuse, amuse each other and us with their reinterpretations of themselves and their opponents, the middlegrounders will slump and vacillate like beached jellyfish, ready to be swayed by the moment's hot topic, some talking dickhead on TV or their morning horoscope.
Which I think means: "I'm pissed Kerry won."?????

I have heard that both sides are biting their nails in fear of the other. There is more at stake here than usual. Edwards has his first chance to show to the entire country he is presidential timber, something that may be even more important to him four years from now. Kerry's choice of Edwards could also become a campaign issue if he falls flat. Cheney on the other hand, has created one skelton after another for his now bulging closet the last three years, and a skillful Edwards could crucify him for his flat out falsehoods he told about our prior knowledge on WMDs and al-Queda connections, as he pops one skelaton after another from it's perch.

Myself, I am hoping for a match of Titans - the country's supposed best trial lawyer against the country's alleged most caging and diabolical politician. After the mis-matched Kerry/Bush affair, a battle between two real heavyweights would be most entertaining.

I don't think people put that much stock in this. As proof, we have Bush I winning despite losing the most embarassing VP debate in the history of the universe. I still remember the look in Lloyd Bentsens eyes... I guess it's too much to hope for Darryl Hammond to moderate. [:D]

Botnst point is well taken. There are huge amounts of bandwagon jumpers who want to be on the side of the winner. They are just dying to say "we won" regardless of which candidate it is.

WHile Kerry did better than Bush, I don't think there was anything that came out that would make anyone slap their forehead and switch candidates.

It's like when Kerry got annointed as "electable" back in Iowa. Dean had a huge lead but someone said that Kerry was electable and it all fell apart for Dean. No one changed positions or did anything outragous (it was over before the scream) just everyone jumping on the bandwagon of the guy they think will win regardless of his positions.

Actually there is this right-wing talk radio show forum that I terrorize occasionally, and they are saying (keep in mind everything is a conspiracy with these folks) that the Bush poll lead was rigged so people would jump the bandwagon when the Kerry lead materialized. Everyone wants the underdog to win, is their logic, if the word logic even applies to these people. Right now there is thread after thread of ranting about how Kerry "cheated" in the debates.

Gee, and I thought those long pauses by George were so he could hear what was being transmitted to his cranial implant to allow someone else to take over his body and answer the questions. I also thought he looked like he was grinding his teeth, like he was a little coked up. My theory is the coke is needed to make the rudimentary core of George ok with a 90 minute occupation by the other being through the cranial implant.

But then, I am easily lured to see a scenario involving George that has some form of help from Daddy or his recycled administration members, and a dose of coke, as more realistic than what is transpiring in front of the TV cameras. It is that three and three quarters years of Pavlov dog training he has given us. What you see and hear have nothing to do with reality! Jim
