I think Bush may have lost the "expectations" game all the talking heads love to wag about. The post-debate spin game may go against him. What do you think?
I honestly thought he would look better than he did. To me, he looked like a stuttering fool much of the time, and was extremely repetitive, although he did have a couple of impressive moments. In general, I believe that he played fairly well to his audience, who seem to have low expectations anyway. My personal highlight was when he found it necessary to let the American people know that he knew it was Osama Bin Laden that attacked us. Kerry started out a little weakly, but gained confidence and seemed decisive and articulate most of the way through. I was particularly impressed with his strong declaration of "nuclear proliferation" without pause once the question had been asked.

well, i watched a bit in the early going and then at the end and listened to it in between...
shrub repeated himself a bunch. sloganeering too.
kerry seemed a bit unsure early. he repeated a lot of his jargon too but seemed to be more creative with his words. I think he really was sharp on picking on some of shrub's mistakes and mis-statements and pointing to what some of us already know...that shrub is the debil...[;)]
I think it was good that Kerry was pretty calm and togather while shrub just sounded trite trying to stick to his original line...denial... mission accoplished...

All 6! of the undecided voters televised by NBC are now leaning towards Kerry. Most telling was the "security mom" who said Bush uses fear while Kerry looked like a leader.
I bet the folks in Mass will go to sleep happy tonight.
Yes their ignorant left wing socialist world
is safe for one more night.

There is no doubt that Sen. Kerry was the better speaker tonight.
He said he has a plan but really couldn’t or didn’t get it out. From my aspect.

i agree, i wish he did expand on things but i still think better then shrub... the format is partially the reason; it wasn't very coducive to just opening up your plans... it was a sound bite battle... just not deep enough, but when was the last time that the candidates actually talked real issues anyway..

It is amazing that they expect 300 million people to make up their minds on a leader based on 90 minutes of 2 minute questions and 90 second rebuttals. We had townhall debates longer than that on what day garbage got picked up. I wish they would debate this stuff for a whole day and then played it in parts on CSPAN all week.

Yup, here in the state with the best schools, colleges and universities in the world we sure are ignorant.
Not to mention our world class hospitals. Yup ignorant.
Socialist, nope don't think so. Well there is Cambridge but that's about it.
Left wing, as in the only state of the union to NOT vote for that criminal Richard Nixon? Yup, that's us. Guess just because we don't get suckered easily don't make us ignorant.
Plus Kerry SURE didn't look ignorant compared to shrub, and he's from Massachusetts.
Sounds like jealousy to me. Come on over, can't say it will be easy though. Aren't too many jobs here for people that didn't get past third grade.
