What's the problem? We took poor, unfortunate people out of a God forsaken jungle, paid for their transportation to a better place, taught them to speak and read a writable language, rewarded them for superior service and gave them free time to shuck and jive! All we asked in return was a good days work. On the surface it would appear that we did them a favor!!

Now, you can say whatever you want, but I just wanted to say something myself.

What a favor! Grab a shovel and dig deep with me Cap n. Your ancestors took MY ancestors from our homeland, put them in shackles and chains, crammmed them into the cargo hold of boats like sardines, forced to lay in human waste, many dying along the way due to your "gracious" accomodations. Once you got them home, you worked them in the hot fields, sweating, picking all sorts of crops from dusk to dawn, the motivation, the whip, or a lynching. Where's the time for all this "shucking and jiving" you speak of? Your ancestors were highly opposed to them getting any formal education whatsoever. Families were split up, and we all know what "master" would do with the woman slaves, against their will. Hence, lighter pigmented slaves, who work in the house, and master finds a little "work" for them as well. By the way, where's this reward for all this work? Now, I don't know if you were trying to be funny, but I found no humor in it whatsoever. Before I go, I just want to let you know that I am no way calling you a racist, but your comments made it seem so though. I just wanted to let you know from MY point of view.

Tell me more about MY anxestors. I don't recall any of them being in the slave trade.

RE: Slavery and education in Georgia

What we did to Africans cannot be undone. Slavery cannot be justified. All I can say is that all ablacks should be returned to their original homeland immediately.

This return to their homelands by descendants of the slaves, now educated and worldly will help raise the level of prosperity in their countries.

GOODSPEED!!!

Nothing like a good "expose the racists on the forum" thread.

Yes, the ignorance demonstrated here is truly profound.

I hope that any African-Americans who read this thread realize that we only have a couple of sheet wearing conehead crackers here, and that the vast majority of the posters here do not share their views.

RE: Slavery and education in Georgia

lets simplify things a little, in the old days people were bought and worked the land, now you get paid a little and dont need to brought from other lands reardless of colour?? if your a big boss then you own the worker and they work willingly (now explain slavery)
