OUR BORDERS

Just wondering what you all thought of undocumented aliens crossing our porous borders from Mexico and Canada. I remember going to East Germany as a child many times, with my Dad on business. I still get the chills thinking about it. I'd like our borders defended like that. Oh, and my idea of what to do with illegals found on our soil is unique. Do not repatriate them, simply drop them by parachute to any of many uncharted islands, no exceptions children, elderly, et al

I'm sure something along these lines is what you have in mind:

RE: OUR BORDERS

the US border is way to long to ever be effectively guarded. and then there are the thousands of miles of coast line... I am very surprised that there hasn't been more infiltration... it's a cake walk man...especially the northern one...

RE: OUR BORDERS

Guarding our borders already costs more than most countries spend on all their defense requirements. Tightening them up the way that has been suggested would probably triple or quadruple our present defense budget, which entail a tax increase, God forbid! I crossed those borders into East Germany too. Relatively short border, yet employed more border guards and equipment, construction and so on than our entire present border control effort.

As for your treatment of people sneaking in, well,if this country allowed that kind of treatment of people for any reason, the border guards would soon be there for the same reason as they were in East Germany. They were there to forcibly keep East Germans in East Germany, not to keep others out of East Germany.

It sounds like you would be much more at home in the old East Germany, based on almost all of your posts to date. It is a shame the people there didn't consider your desire before they shrugged off the oppressive government they had and joined the rest of Europe. Today they have an even more porous border with all their neighbors than we do. Jim

RE: OUR BORDERS

Be prepared to create a new economy, cuz the current one would collapse in short order if you ever closed the border like that.

If you mean shoot to kill, yes that's exactly what I mean. Also, I'D let the bodies rot, right where they went down. I'll bet you, once the word got out, the trek across our Southern borders would slow to a trickle.

with birthrates down and baby boomers retiring immigration is the only way the US economy is going to be afloat 50 years from now.

RE: OUR BORDERS

OK, so you all think it is fine that we have porous borders, think that the our economy couldn't do without the undocumented Latino workforce. Any decent person who just wants to live in the U.S., and intends us no harm should be welcomed, correct?
