RE: OUR BORDERS
It's easy to have a dispassionate view of the subject if you don't live in Florida, Texas, Arizona, or California. If you do, you see the toll caused by illegals in your everyday life, and you have to help bear the cost. Some states are easier than others on illegals, and AZ is one that rolls out the red carpet. Illegals get a free education, medical care, and social services in addition to full use of the infrastructure that the rest of us pay for through taxes. They are also exempt from criminal prosecution in all but the most heinous crimes. A Mexican national who commits an armed robbery in Phoenix is likely to receive a free ride to the border, which he's at liberty to cross again tomorrow. They routinely drive without licenses, thereby endangering the public -- hit and runs are daily affairs here.
They are definitely a cheap and easily accessible labor force, but the vast majority are paid in cash, so contribute nothing to SSI. They come from Mexico and from California, where they aren't as welcome. The influx could be severely restricted, but Arizona seems to want them here, which I find baffling.
