RE: CBS Nixes '60 Minutes' Story on Iraq War
How about this: There is a supposition afoot that Mr Rather and the folks at 60 Minutes have an actual bias of some sort (say it ain't so!) and that particular bias interfered with their normal journalistic skepticism concerning the "Memos".
Who's to say that the same journalistic bias, if true, did not affect this other story?
Believe it or not, many people were ready to accept the first story, "Memos", without evaluating the evidence because it agreed with their views and affirmed their beliefs. This is what we call, "prejudice".
Do you think that the same mechanisms could be involved in our analysis of this spiked story?
