RE: Made the paper today

So how did you end up with a Brother in-law with the same last name?
theories:
1. You took your wife's name at marriage
2. Your sister married a guy with the same last name
3. You're really not from the UK, but rather from (insert favorite whipping-boy state here), where everyone marries their own relatives.
4. The real answer... ?

RE: Made the paper today

You missed one possibility: I married a woman with the same last name and she is neither my sister nor my cousin. (or my mother)

Kerry, I see a Saab 99 in your future. :)
...why, does he strike you as a masochist Ted? D-Jetronic injection is/was a nightmare.

BTW: Are contributions to the kerry edwards (s)election fund tax deductible?

Tax deductible, and I do accept Paypal.

I must be really dense, I don't get the Saab reference.

I think you should make the article's pic your new avatar. It's awesome. No kidding. It kinda screams "academic" don't it?

I'm really trying to see things from your perspective, but I'm having trouble getting my head up my ass

RE: Made the paper today

If I knew how to turn it into my avatar I would. I'm not computer literate enough to know how. The photographer must have taken about 40-50 shots. It's ironic, because I am probably the least 'academic' academic I know.

Ok, now I get the Saab thing. You're right. My daughter's kindergarten teacher had the old rounded Saab station wagon (probably old enough to be 2 cycle) and I lusted after it. Although I haven't worn a sleeve patched tweed jacket in years and I stopped smoking a pipe in about 77.
