RE: hard drive question

In fact, a bad hard drive will cost you a new hard drive, while a bad fan will cost you a whole new laptop! You sound like you are saying you can put a bad fan off because its not as big a deal as the HD, but in fact, that little 9$ part will cost you a grand or so if you neglect it.

RE: hard drive question

Or it could be your CD-ROM reading a disc... [:D]

Always use it when there is good ventilation, cooling fan or not... tends to screw up the systems inside and will significantly degrade performance...

Was playing Command and Conquer: Generals one time and in the heat of battle the laptop suddenly went blue screen. I had to end the game abruptly and restart, but only after cooling the system down.

KirkV,

that is good advice. thanks. i will attend to it now.

on a different note, I dare you to turn this discussion into a political one. Please don't tell me your political axe is dull.

I never mix business with politics. With my politics, no one would do business with me. I'll PM you on where to send the check.

Guess what guys? I turned on my laptop tonight and was greeted with a grrrrrr...... sound from where the cooling fan is. No air being blown out the vents. Guess the fan died. Which one of you put a curse on it?

Not me. If your CD-ROM goes out that would then be me... [:D][:o)]
