RE: Ever been in a bad auto accident?
I was in the Philippines still when I was driving my old 1989 Lancer. I saw a sign that said "Pedicabs no crossing" so I felt somehow OK after reading that sign.
Then all of a sudden this jerk pedicab driver suddenly attempted his snail-speed cross over the four-lane Quezon Ave. while I was going like 60kph (average speed on that lane before any traffic changes)...anyway, I did not hit him thankfully but when I was braking real hard I could hear the tires almost...almost squealing. I didn't want to fully step on the brakes since my car has no ABS, and I didn't want to lock the tires and spin out of control. As best as I could I tried to stop the car.
But then when I looked to check who else was on the way this motorcycle driver was in front of me!!! Five feet and getting closer by the second!
I ended up hitting him instead, his rear tire scraped and burned the plastic rubber black bumper of my car (thankfully only that, and I busted his rear taillight). He did not fall over LUCKILY otherwise it would have really been bad bad bad [B)] I just paid him like 500 pesos (roughly $20) for the part and that was fine with him, but that was my allowance for the day [:o)]
It was all because somebody attempted to cross the lanes when it was specifically stated NOT to do so...
So anybody reading this if you're driving behind a motorcycle driver stay as far back as reasonable, you never know what's going to happen.
