Hi Zietgeist,

I've just been using the 'Way-Back Machine' and found these photos. What 'Genre' are they? I've not seen anything like 'em before your post in September.

A D Type Jag.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Well, not sure which of my posts tickled your fancy, but I'll describe them all. The first is a restored Volkswagen Type III Karmann Ghia (my all-time dream car), the second is pic of some weird Japanese custom audio van fad (I have no idea what's up with that), and the third is a Volkswagen Transporter Tristar Syncro (4x4).

It was 1963. My mother was on my dad to buy a station wagon, as we had 3 children , ages 3 thru 7. My Dad went out in the VW Beetle which was only about a year old to get a wagon. A couple hours later we hear a beep beep in front of the house. Dad traded it in for a new white Karmann Ghia convert.

I drool everytime one of those passes by me. And when it accelerates, that would be music to my ears.

Give me a 68-72 Corvette 427 w/ the 4spd. I'd like it in British Racing Green with the Redline Tires. I couldn't find one in that set up, but here a different color combo.
