My choice would be a low mileage 1991 Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan, with a 5MT transmission, and a retrofited JDM intercooler. This would be a very low Cost alternative to a WRX, and the 1991 models had some nice options such as an oil warmer, LSD, hill holder clutch, and Bosch ABS and other electronics. The 1991s are also easier to install a JDM intercooler...

A Subaru Liberty RS would be above this, but they are all RHD, and make too much HP [:D]

A 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger, or a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition (think Smokey & The Bandit, +1 year).

What makes it worse is that I can pick up a straight body for the T/A for $400 delivered to my house. [V]

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. The bodies of these rare cars were hand built in Italy by Pinin Farina and shipped over to the US for completion. Only 99 of these car were built, #100 was lost at the docks during shipping. To quote Henry Ford, I'd like one in any color as long as it's black.

Hi Rickg,

"Now that would be a car I'd love to drive, but not own." I'm not with you on that one. :o)

http://www.bentleymotors.com/bentleymotors/selectlanguage.jsp#

I had the opportunity to drive that very car in late May up in New Hampshire. The acceleration is astonishing! Very much like the acceleration rate of a jet airliner on takeoff, it just builds, builds, and builds...... as the road gets narrower by the second!

Solid through the turns, the car feels as if on rails. The exhaust note is quite satisfying as well.......

It is the best new car I've driven.

Cheers, MBL
