Miltiary families opposed to Iraq War raise Anti-Bush Outcry on the Web

The mothers of the slain and those who have family in or have lost family in Iraq are speaking out about this illegal war that is putting their loved ones into a pointless meat grinder:

It amazes me how little coverage these people get from the news media. What is the deal? Even during Vietnam, a protest at a Presidential event made the news. First I saw of this was from you Kirk. Thanks, Jim

I’m not saying the media are in bed with the Bush administration (I’ll let someone else say that…[:D]) but my sense of this is that the media are knocking each other over trying to be as “pro-US as possible; as if they are atoning for the treason many believe they committed during Vietnam. Fox is the worst, IMHO.

The media may not have been in bed with the Bush family, but they sure are not doing their job anymore. Seems like they are making news rather than reporting it. No more investigations when they can just make it up! Jim

Sometimes if there is a slow anti-Bush news day, they make stuff up. But mostly its probably true somewhat a little bit, at least in spirit. And anyway, its for a good cause.

More come out of the closet everyday. One soldier said 9 out of 10 enlisted men would vote for Kerry. Here's an excerpt, followed by a link to the whole article:

'We shouldn't be here' [Christian Science Monitor News Service]

Other US troops expressed feelings of guilt over killing Iraqis in a war they believe is unjust.

"We shouldn't be here," said one Marine infantryman bluntly. "There was no reason for invading this country in the first place. We just came here and [angered people] and killed a lot of innocent people," said the marine, who has seen regular combat in Ramadi. "I don't enjoy killing women and children, it's not my thing."

As with his comrades, the marine accepted some of the most controversial claims of "Fahrenheit 9/11," which critics have called biased. "Bush didn't want to attack [Osama] Bin Laden because he was doing business with Bin Laden's family," he said.

Another marine, Sgt. Christopher Wallace of Pataskala, Ohio, agreed that the film was making an impression on troops. "Marines nowadays want to know stuff. They want to be informed, because we'll be voting out here soon," he said. " 'Fahrenheit 9/11' opened our eyes to things we hadn't seen before."
