Course it doesn't. It comes from big ships called tankers

The ships are then milked, and after begin separated in grades at locations called refineries, it becomes widely available at your favorite Chevron grocery store.

RE: Petroleum may not come from decaying organic matter.

There have been rumors about this in the Houston oil community for a long time. It is rumored, some dismiss it as tinfoil hat stuff, that the oil companies are aware that "played out" oil fields from the 1920's in East Texas are filling back up again, and that they have secret crews pouring over old maps to find long forgotten caps. May be more to this than rumor.

Can someone post the article or is it too long? I don't want to sign up for the NY Times.

go to www.anomolist.com. Scroll down half a page and click on the link to the article. It opened for me from there, without having to register.

I hate to waste archived electrons. They just sit there, aware of the moments until the spin cycle ends, color and flavor return and the quantum ducks go quark, quark, quark.
