Kirk,
The biggest automotive bargain out there right now is the Acura. I picked up a 97 TL 3.5 with 58K miles on it (Black with Tan Leather) for $9200. for a friend of the family's 20 year old son. Talk about your happy kid. Those things have phenomenal reliability, offer a near luxury ride and all the toys. And are reasonable to maintain. The only knock is that you have to run them on premium.

I really like the Acuras. But my experience with my 98 Camray is really pushing me to Lexus products. I currrently have a set of cars I have to live with - Son 1 & 2 are in college, son 3 not far behind, and I am back in school trying to complete an additional degree. That's about an Acura a semester.

Hi TXBill I haven't seen you in a long time! I miss reading your posts on the diesel forum.

Hi Hattaresguy, what's up?

I love this place and won't be back at MercedesShop, though there are still lots of people over there I'll miss that haven't made it over here yet.

How's the SDL running? I've got to get another digicam and post some pics of my 300 SD, since the repaint it's looking sweet.

Not much, the SDL is running well I'm about 1/2 way threw restoring it. When did you get the SD? Last I heard you were driving a Volvo and the 220D(I think) had a major engine problem.

I couldn't stand the Volvo and it couldn't stand me. Last December, I bought the 300 SD, got the Volvo running with a new wiring harness and computer then gave it to my best friend Helen, because she really needed wheels. She absolutely loves it, but she's put in an exhaust manifold gasket, new ball joints and tires, and today a new voltage reg./brush pack. but when you consider she got the car for free, it's quite a bargain. I ended up selling the 220 D to my garbage man, and he put a new head on it and so far so good. I wish I had kept that one, it was in better shape than my W115 240D.

What are you gonna do with all your money once your kids are out of college?

No, thats Paul Couch, the founder of thr Trinity Broadcasting Network. If you get that channel, he's the cornpone old hairpiece married to that bizarre Tammy Faye clone that wears wigs the size of a freakin elephants head. It is alleged that Paul had a "camp" for "recovering homosexuals", and Paul would go there often to offer encouragement by encouraging the repentents to repentent by giving him head. He was so taken by one of the backsliders (heh heh) that he made him a "special assistant". That guy has written a tell-all book that Paul is fighting tooth and nail to ban. Big lawsuits too. But I have to be honest,on look at that thing-fish he calls a wife and you can't blame the guy for being a switch hitter. The women is not just a bagger, she's a Hefty Lawn and Leaf Bagger.
