My friends car accident

Today my friend and I were bored so we decided to go clean out a garage on my parents land a few miles down the road from my house. My friend and I did a little work and decided we would head off to the car wash to clean our vehicles since my truck was pretty dirty. I left in front of my friend who drives a 93 BMW 525i sedan. About 3 miles down the road there was a pretty bad turn (90degree almost). I slowed down and went around the turn at about 25mph (454 V8 Chevy pickups dont corner very well). I then drove down the road after the turn about 200 feet. I glanced into my rearview mirror as my friend rounded the turn. He braked and then lost control coming out of the turn sending him into a uncontrolled 360deg. spin. He hit a clump of trees after overcorrecting and then slammed the front of the car, directly in the center, into a large pine tree. I immidiatley slammed on my brakes and jammed my truck into reverse generating a loud squeal and backed up at quite an accelerated pace towards the wreckage. My friend dazed got out of the car with only a minor shoulder injury. His car that he had had for about a month was DESTROYED. If i can get some pictures of his car, I will post them. Its bad. I guess what im trying to say is that next time you are cruising on a back country road, BE CAREFUL! Hes very lucky hes not severley injured or even dead. Its a good thing he was in a BMW too because I dont think a lesser car would have fared so well. Hats off to the Germans for taking automotive safety so seriously! So remember next time your out and about BE CCAREFUL and BUCKLE UP!

RE: My friends car accident

Yes he is VERY fortunate. You could see on his shirt the rips the seatbelt made when he hit. It still amazes me how people think its ok to fly past people on little windy back roads. Its just an invitation for disaster. All it takes is one mistake. A slick spot, a deer, ect...
