RE: Holy agreement Batman!!
Henry Ford also said that the people "can buy any color they want, as long as it's black". Things change tcp. Outsourcing is a fact of global business like it or not. Isolating jobs to the US is too narrow a way of thinking. Union mentality (I'm gonna get flamed for this) prevents the US worker from competing with outsourcing. Instead of paying $20 for a shirt in WalMart, you'd pay $50 to cover the costs of US labor, insurance, Jerry's retirement party, the 3 weeks vacation and 10 sick days, etc..
Unemployment figures typically NEVER use numbers, usually percentage figures. Also they do not reflect the number of self-employed (like me) or small businesses in the marketplace. Some believe there are even more in that category now than ever.
Trickle down economics does work. We do not outsource "everything" overseas. And as far as quality of life at "all levels of the ladder"...Socialism doesn't work nearly as well as a representative republic and capitalism, not even close.
We in the US ALL have the chance to make it to the top. The mere fact that the more you make in this country the more taxes you pay is just plain not right. I rent to people who pay no taxes and receive refunds. People who work the system for handouts to the tune of $25k/yr and have never worked. Yet I bust my ass for 65-70 hrs a week and take it in the seat for 5 months worth of my income to keep these bottom feeders in menthols and cable TV. If it is fair treatment that we strive for, a flat tax or national sales tax would be the absolute best alternatives.
Sold the Honda Pilot for a F-1250 SuperCrew
