RE: Driving your car hard?

I drive the '87 300 SDL hard all the time, Redline shifts full throttle starts, 190,000 miles and still going strong.

I drive the ML moderately, I have 3000 miles on it now and I want it to last so I drive it easy but I also get on it and wind it out every couple of days.

I drive my car hard everyday especially when I'm in a bad mood! I would say it takes a pretty good beating.

RE: Driving your car hard?

I drive in a semi-spirited manner, acceleration usually means hitting about 2500-3000 RPM.

But every now and then when things are just right I need to as my one buddy says "Let the big dog eat." and give it a run to redline. Just something about that 24V I-6 that just makes my spine tingle everytime I hear it run too 6000+RPMs

VRRRrrrrroOooooOOOOOOMMMMM!!!

RE: Driving your car hard?

I drive it hard every now and then to blow out any carbon deposits hehe <--- good excuse huh
I only have a ML320 with 60K miles ...

usually see the 6000rpm redline when I see a X5 3.0i around

But with the ML's weight and V6 ... 4000rpm pulls are daily typical

But I still have my old school 1985 Corolla GT-S RWD to drive hard @ auto-x sessions. this 4A-GE engine is happy to be bouncing at redline.
