Before out current licence plate scheme we had
Letter, up to three numbers and then three letters.
so X 351 ARO could be a legitimate UK plate but you are right that the refelction in the mirror is all wrong.
The British DVLA do not usually let out numberplates that can be made to look offensive.
So for instance P155 OFF or W411KER (4's look like A's and if you put the screw that holds the plate on in between the two 1's it looks like an N) were never released.
Spoil sports!.. Mind you. Some have slipped through and to be honest I bet that BMW one would have.
