[?] Cars for life

If you were offered any car in production but on the condition that it had to be your only means of transport for the rest of your life, what would you take and what would it be?

For example, if you were given a nice new SL you would still have to use it daily in 50 years time regardless of fuel and insurance costs.

...if it were not a car, it would have been a 1955 Vespa

...if it were not a car, it would have been a 1955 Vespa "Acma"...and it would have been in Vietnam...and for the next 15 years only...cause I would be 70 and do not think it would be reasonable to ride it past that age...

Among todays cars, it would be the new E55T AMG.

If I could pick any car, and did not have to use it as the ONLY mean of transportation, I would pick one of the two 280SE 3,5 cabriolet 6,9 on sale at www.mirbach.de

One Black/Red:
http://www.mirbach.de/main.asp?main=...av=0&subnav=1>
and one Green/green:
http://<http://www.mirbach.de/main.a...av=0&subnav=1>

Black/red or Green/green I can not decide...
Check them out, based on your signature (Heckflosse) you should like them!

damn, that would be tough. because you want a car that will not give you problems later on and will not be expensive to work on. a vehicle with alot of gadgets and technology will give you problems after a long time. and you never know what you may encounter in life. so, i'll go with a very rugged, dependable Mercedes.

a Mercedes branded(as opposed to Freightliner) Unimog Classic

Porsche Cayenne Turbo

Nothing you can't do in it. Fast enough to mock most sports cars nicely, comfortable enough for daily use. Docile yet aggressive. Tow alot of stuff with it, multi-terrain capabilities. Love it our hate is styling, which I prefer. Because you'll either get praise or the opportunity to show someone up.(MATURE
[:D]) Plenty of people room, and it's an SUV so it has plenty of people making room.

Porsche on top of it all.

Granted, running costs would be high, but if I could cut it, I'd hold onto it forever.

hmm, thats kind of a tricky question...if i could be sure that it wouldnt tear up every 50,000 miles,id pick a 1991 560SEC AMG..on the other hand,if i was going for strictly reliable,i would go for a 1985 300SD with 0 miles on it,and every option you could stuff in it...regardless,if i had to drive one car for the rest of my life,it would no doubt be a mercedes
