I have no respect forVW drivers

they think they got the coolest rides. just becuz VW is a european brand, they think they are driving a Merc or a Bimmer.. all the VW i have seen on the road so far are the worst drivers in the world. they would turn without signal, or block the fast lane, and think that they are the fastest on the road... there are just too many stupid things that they have done to make me hate them.

Subaru Forester however is a real cool ride

Subaru Forester is however is a real cool ride (refering to your signature)!

What are you doing in Hong Kong? Are you in the car-rental business?

love that car

i do think that the subaru forester is indeed a great car in case you are saying that in a sarcastic way.. of cuz it is not an exotic car.. but for the price of it.. its definitely a great car with great handling.. especially when u are driving in Hong Kong.. the roads are extremely challenging, therefore, handling is a crucial factor.. i do not think that my Forester is a hot ride.. but at least i did not try ta modify it or anything.. its just a everyday ride.. and i do not drive recklessly like those VW drivers.. i m not into the car rental business.. however, i would love ta rent u my titanium ferrari 550 maranello if u can afford it.. but i doubt it :)

Re:

I spent some time working in Hong Kong, and it is really crowded, at least on the island. Do you have parking space for your entire fleet of cars?

We have Foresters as company cars. It is the two liter non-turbo version, and we have standing joke that just like Rolls Royce used to state the engine power simply as "enough", Subaru states the Forester engine power simply as "not enough". Regarding the handling I am not so sure I agree with you. But I guess it's an OK car when you need a cheap practical car that can do lighter off-road.

Does your comment on VW driver goes for USA, Hong Kong or the entire planet? At least for Europe (from where I havre most of my experience regarding VW drivers), I have to say that I don“t share your opinion of a typical VW driver. If there at all exist such a thing, I would rather say that he (or she) is someone who wants a car with high quality for reasonable money, and he does not care much about prestige (unlike most of us Mercedes drivers on this forum [;)]).

My father drives a VW Passat, and I think he is a quite nice guy! And I know for sure that he does not think that he "has the coolest ride". I also have a friend who upgraded from a Passat Variant to a Mercedes W124 300ET 24V. I can not say that I noticed a dramatic change in personality (except that he might be a litle happier [:)])

my post is just referring to the VW owners in US.. i dunno about hong kong.. cuz there are...

my post is just referring to the VW owners in US.. i dunno about hong kong.. cuz there are just so many choices of cars that you can get.. especially all the nice japanese ones.. anywayz, i have no intention to disrespect ur father or your friend.. i think what really got me so pissed off about the US VW drivers is the way they drive.. how they dress their car up or modify them.. i dun even care.. cuz ppl got different taste.. i have no right to judge that. however, i do believe that i have enough knowledge about driving.. and how to be a driver with courtesy in order to judge them. i tell u.. they are just ridiculous!
anywayz, yea i got the non- turbo forester which i agree is powerless.. but its just a everyday ride.. its economical and it has decent handling(for a car that price). i live around stanley(southern district of HK), therefore, it is very importnat for me ta drive a car with good handling and control. if u have been around that district.. u will understand what i am talking about relating to the challenging uphill and downhill roads.

I think it has to do with a demographic of owners

As you would expect, VW (jetta) and Civics are driven by younger crouds, and a whipper snapper will show its age. It doesn't mean an old foggie in a S-class won't be a jack ass, however.

HOLDEN COMMODORE..

THE WORST DRIVERS WOULD HAVE TO BE HOLDEN COMMODORES. IM SURE YOU PEOPLE IN THE USA DONT KNOW, BUT ITS THE MOST COMMON CAR HERE. OWNED BY GENERAL MOTORS. ITS GOT A BUICK V6 THAT EATS PETROL LIKE NO TOMORROW. I CONSIDER THE DRIVERS WORSE THAN VOLVOS. THEY CUT U OFF, ALWAYS WANNA RACE U, NO INDICATORS, DRIVE LIKE LUNATICS. ANYONE FROM AUSTRALIA THAT DRIVES A COMMODORE, I JUST WANNA LET U KNOW THAT I DONT HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR YOUR CARS AND IF I WOULD LOVE TO BUY ONE JUST TO TRASH IT

sorry about your experience bro but I always taught that dying old people behinds the wheel of a big ass benz were the bad drivers.

And honestly at least here in LA people that drive mercedes are horriblwe drivers. Its not that they drive crazy, its just that they cant drive for shit! I think that since they baught such an expensive ass car they think the car could drive its self.

flame on!!

GTI in the weekend warrior car. I use my left signal light in the fast lane to make people move. Plus the HIDs help too[:D]

They move when this comes up behind them. OEM Audi TT HID projectors by the way, not a cheap retofit kit.
